This year Allergy New Zealand will ignite conversations in our school communities all around New Zealand during Allergy Awareness Week (AAW), Sunday 12 May to Saturday 18 May.
Allergy New Zealand knows that the most effective place to ignite informed allergy conversations is within our school communities. All schools have a responsibility to enable a safe and inclusive environment for our children.
This year our national volunteers have gone all out to develop a fantastic school allergy pack of resources to engage children in fun and imaginative activities, with strong and credible messages around the management of allergies and how to keep their allergy friends safe.
Schools from across the country will be invited to participate in activities aimed at educating our community and igniting allergy conversations. We will have resources (activity suggestions, posters, quizzes, videos and worksheets) available on our website for teachers and parents to use from Monday 25 March 2019.
We appreciate all support, so please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’re a parent interested in initiating allergy awareness during AAW, use the template letter to contact your school now and encourage them to include Allergy Awareness Week in their May, 2019 school planning. Download the template letter here.
