Food allergy: Finding the right balance
Plus Eczema!
Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre, 58 Waipuna Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland
Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 August 2010
Allergy New Zealand’s national conference this year focuses on food allergy — and how to find the right balance. Our Sunday programme focuses exclusively on eczema. Our keynote speaker Professor Paula Barrett is an international expert on anxiety in children, and she will explain how to recognise when anxiety is too much, what you can do and how you can support your child.
Three allergy specialists will talk about different aspects of food allergy, from prevalence in New Zealand, to putting food allergy into perspective, to issues affecting adults with food allergy.
Our final focus is on eczema, and we have two of the country’s only eczema nurse specialists who will offer practical advice on how to bring even the most difficult case of eczema under control.
Speakers:
Professor Paula Barrett, clinical psychologist and world expert in anxiety in children
Associate Professor Rohan Ameratunga, allergist/clinical immunologist
Dr Jan Sinclair, paediatric immunologist/allergist
Dr Penny Fitzharris, adult immunologist/allergist
Drs Daniel Shepherd and
Jason Landon, Psychology Unit, AUT
Anna Richards, registered dietitian
Pauline Brown, eczema nurse specialist
Debbie Rickard, eczema nurse specialist
