Allergies — no walk in the park — a success!

The theme for this year’s Allergy Awareness Week (16-22 May) was ‘Allergies — no walk in the park’. And it was a great success.

Allergy_Awareness_Week_2010.jpgWe had more than 60 schools and more than 50 libraries nationwide putting up displays of posters, brochures, magazines, books and leaflets next week.

Businesses and pharmacies also took part.
  • ASB Bank branches nationwide displayed brochures, bookmarks and posters in their customer areas as well as putting up displays in their lunchrooms and staff common rooms.
  •
  • Mad Butcher stores displayed a special Allergy Awareness Week poster featuring Peter Leitch, the Mad Butcher himself, and his grandson Ruben, himself an allergy sufferer, presenting Allergy New Zealand chief executive Penny Jorgensen with a cheque for $10,000 donated by the Leitch family in support of Allergy New Zealand

New supporters for Allergy Awareness Week

ASB Bank, Goodman Fielder and Mylan join Electrolux and Dunlop Living

Allergy New Zealand welcomed ASB Bank, Goodman Fielder, Mylan as supporters of Allergy Awareness Week 2010, joining Allergy New Zealand's major supporters Electrolux and Dunlop Living.

ASB Bank distribued posters, bookmarks and leaflets via its 145 branches throughout New Zealand and also distributed information on allergies to its 5000 staff. Meanwhile Goodman Fielder and Mylan's financial support ensured that Allergy New Zealand was able to undertake Allergy Awareness Week without impacting public donations collected during the week.
